Merry Christmas. 🙂

As I traveled to grandmother’s house for today’s LOVELY Christmas gathering, I listened to a perfectly motivational, inspirational, smile-provoking segment on Willy’s Roadhouse featuring LORETTA LYNN. Yes! None other than the AMAZING first lady of country music, Loretta Lynn!!!!!!!!! In this segment, details of Ms. Lynn’s FIRST Christmas album released in 50 years were covered.

White Christmas Blue.

The music is SO fucking good. Please, buy it. Mellifluous to my ears, just as Coal Miner’s Daughter (etcetera) shall always be, I feel so very proud to purchase this album (in real time, rather than half a century plus later). Knowing Ms. Lynn’s life story, as of course depicted in the film starring Sissy Spacek (who celebrates her birthday today!), makes my heart go pitter patter. Drives my entrepreneurial spirit into spits of wildness!!

Ms. Lynn, aged 84, is doing her AMAZING thing, from heart, to hands, to brain, using her skill, just as Fritz Lang would have pictured in his 1927 Metropolis. “The mediator between head and hands must be the heart.”

I smiled so hard during the entire drive to grandmother’s house. And during the visit, too. I love her SO.

Ms. Lynn has always reminded me of my other grandmother, the one that I visited yesterday, on Christmas Eve. A strong, feisty, tiny, independent, from-the-country powerhouse. Same age. Same height. Same everything! Can you believe that she’s aged 84? She’s using sophisticated sewing machines that communicate to her flat-screen computer, creating her art work which would make any modern Etsy seller fall to their knees. I love her SO.

So what the hell is the point of this post? It is to tell you that I have created my New Year’s Resolution, and it is huge. Sensational. I hope you’ll watch and judge / cheer for / motivate / what-have-you me in the next 12 months to come.

For tonight’s film, for the Christmas film d’jour, we choose “Coal Miner’s Daughter” because it is the perfect match to how we feel, at this moment. Smiling, so much, we hope that you will follow our adventure in 2017. It is time for a martini. We love you. Merry Christmas.

What is your New Year’s Resolution? 🙂
